Durmax- "Dmax"

The Duramax brought light duty diesel to the modern age. With more advanced computer controls, high pressure common rail injection, aluminum heads, and brought the legendary Allison transmission to consumers. The Duramax was designed by Isuzu and produced by a joint venture between GM and Isuzu in Ohio. Finally GM had a diesel worth putting in a pickup. It replaced the dated 6.5L Detroit workhorse. Duramax quickly became a powerhouse making decent power with simple upgrades. More importantly got amazing mileage at the same time.
